Dear Year 6 parents/carers and children of Oak class,
Welcome to our class page! Our class page will be regularly updated throughout the year with our exciting curriculum learning challenges. As this is their last school year with us at Westfield, let's make it one to remember!

OUR LEARNING JOURNEY...
Autumn Term - Topic: Vicious Vikings
Our topic 'Were the Vikings always victorious and vicious?' began with a visit to Moorforge Viking Settlement.
On our WOW day, we experienced what it was like to travel back in time to the Viking period to meet a real-life Viking! We discovered where and how Vikings lived, how they used their weapons, went hunting and learned all about Viking religion.
We could not thank Moorforge Viking Settlement enough for the experience - we thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Spring Term
Science - Animals including Humans
We made our own blood models to help us remember the different components and their functions in our blood. We have also recapped the major organs in our body (and their functions) and located them on our class skeleton!
Spring Term
English - Setting Descriptions
In English, the children have worked hard to write their own fantasty tale narrative, with a focus on setting description. We then used an Ai Tool to 'draw my setting' and bring our stories to life!
The children were amazed with how much they looked like how they envisioned when writing!
