Welcome to Westfield
As Head Teacher of Westfield Nursery and Primary School I would like to welcome you to our school website, where we hope you will find everything you need to know about our unique school. 2019/2020 will be my fourth year at Westfield and I am so proud to work with a committed and dedicated team of Governors and staff who all aim to make a difference to the lives and learning of all our children.
I hope you will find all the information you need to gain an understanding of our school and how we can work in partnership to ensure every child flourishes during their Nursery and Primary education. Also, you will find key links to sites which may be of help, support or of interest to you and your child. The children are keen for you to celebrate their learning with them; the curriculum page will be updated with key information about their learning and how you can support your child.
Westfield is a very special place, with staff, parents and pupils committed to ensuring our children have a wide range of opportunities to widen their horizons and explore the world beyond their doorstep. We are all very proud of what we achieve at Westfield and invite you to see our happy, confident and welcoming children by visiting us. We would love to show you. If you would like to see our school in action, I am always happy to show current and prospective parents the amazing learning our children enjoy and the care and commitment our staff give to every child.
As a school we have high expectations of all our children and staff and promote and share these expectations so we are able to strive for excellence in everything we do. Some of our successes can be seen through Sport, Music, Drama and significant improvements in academic performance in the end of Key Stage assessments. The school has grown and developed over recent years and is a positive place with a very special atmosphere.
We are a growing, family focused school with many parents and grandparents having been to our school as well as teachers and teaching assistants that started their education at Westfield. We ensure we value each individual child and focus learning on their needs and interests.
Our newly reviewed curriculum is designed to ensure children have rich and memorable learning experiences through our residentials, educational visits and specialist teaching in Sport and Music, while at the same time rigorously teaching the skills needed to move to the next stage of life beyond Primary school.
Our school is at the heart of the community with strong links to St Mary's Church, Westfield and local communities such as local care homes and groups. We believe education is a joint partnership between children, parents, staff, governors and the community. Our committed governing body play an active role in the school's on going development and the Parent Teacher Association have raised significant funds through a wide range of events. Our amazing staff give their time voluntarily to deliver a fantastic range of activities and events outside of the normal school day.
If you have any questions or would like to visit us, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and we hope to see you in the future to experience what it means to learn at Westfield Nursery and Primary School.
